The ALPAkA practical cooperation project is a transfer project integrated into our teaching that enables student teachers at Leipzig University to gain valuable learning experience in school practice and also helps pupils at Leipzig schools to successfully manage the challenging transition from primary to secondary school.
ALPACA TRANSFER PROJECT
The transition from primary school to secondary school can be a challenge - and not just in the period since 2020, which has been characterised by individual and institutional learning time losses due to the pandemic.
ALPAkA means: Analyse der Lernstände von Schüler:innen weiterführender Schulen im Praxiskooperationsprojekt - Aufzeigen von kompetenzorientierten Angeboten zur Förderung.
The project aims to support those involved in Leipzig's schools in describing the initial learning situations of learners moving into year 5 and deriving specific support measures for inclusive, heterogeneity-sensitive teaching. Specifically, the focus is on the basic skills for the two main subjects of German and maths: both reading and spelling performance and maths performance are recorded. It is essential for the rest of the school career that these basic skills are so well developed that the learning material in all other subjects can also be mastered well.
